A day as a spectator
So I like BYU sports. Obviously, my major has just a little bit to do with them. But, I wouldn't necessarily consider myself a zealot. For example, I'm not one of those people that would camp out two nights before the BYU v. Utah basketball game to get a good seat. However, I did wait in line. So I felt a little more hard core than I actually am. Which is generally a pretty good feeling. Anyway, here's what happened: some of these zealots of which we speak are in my ward. They camped for at least one night, maybe two, I can't remember, before the basketball game. Lucky for me, I only had to come get in line two hours before the game actually started. We ended up actually running around the Marriott Center trying to find our group and get in line before they got into the building. It was pretty exciting. We ended up on row 22. Pretty sweet. I felt only slightly guilty that I didn't actually do much to get those seats but nobody seemed too terribly angry. At least we weren't wearing red.
All in all, this game was a big day for me. One, I came multiple hours early to a sporting event. Something I'm usually not a big advocate of. Two, I went to a sporting event as a spectator. You have no idea how much you appreciate doing this until you've had to work one, either selling stuff from a box around your neck or taping athletes. Spectating is the way to go. Three, I painted my face. Turns out I've never done this. I mean sure, I've let a clown give me a little flower on my cheek or something when I was six, but never for a sporting event. So I figured there was no better time than the present.
And here is my lovely face paint. Some important information about this picture--these are my future roommates!! Yes, it's true, I signed contracts to Victoria Place II (more affectionately known as The Sequel) with these fine girls you see here. Starting on the left we have me, Marie Chilton, Megan Robinson and Jenny George. They are all fantastic and I can't wait to live with them. And, it turns out we all look ridiculous trying to make the traditional tough face. Notice Jenny's in particular. Gets me every time.
This is me and Scott. I know that face paint is kind of distracting. Sorry. Scott is on the racquetball team with me.
And just for the record, that was my first and last time using face paint. I was tired of it after about five minutes. The first thing I did when I came home was wash it off.

How quickly you forget Ali! Remember camo face painting with Lana? My favorite picture of you two is where you are "hiding" behind the fake ficus tree! So Cute!
So..I'm pretty sure the girl in the picture on the top standing in front of you girls is Amy Thurber. She and I used to live in Michigan when we were yay big. crazy?
I like that ficus pic too. How is Lana p.s.? And, You're not hard core unless you live hard core. And, thanks for that last pic :)
I WANT TO PAINT MY FACE, TOO! You inspire me to do great things. :)
I agree with you on the face paint thing! And I think Scott looks very nice. Awesomely nice! :)
