It's the climb

So I have some good news and I have some bad news. Which do you want first? Since I don't really want to poll my very active and large base of fans, I will pick for you. Good news (I know, people usually want the bad news first but here's to being original): I AM DONE WITH FINALS!! I wish I could add FOREVER on the end of that but that would be untrue. Even if I was graduating this month the hope is to be accepted into a grad school where they will undoubtedly grace me with many a more final.

The other good news--I know, it's a lot of excitement to handle--Ben and I went on our first rock climbing trip of the season on Saturday. It was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. The weather was beautiful and though our skills were a little rusty, we still climbed safely and rather impressively, I think. Unfortunately this is the only (and therefore the best) picture I got of us on Saturday. Just lovin' life.

Ok, now that I've overwhelmed you with good news, are you ready for the bad news? I'm taking the GRE. On Monday. Which would be fine if I were ready. But I'm not. I think I've studied a grand total of...twenty minutes. And that was tonight when I started flipping through some math flash cards mom and dad sent me. So, I may be done with finals, but I'm not done studying. Bummer. Don't fret--I'll still have an enjoyable week. I mean, everybody needs study breaks...right?

The Results Are In

So Nationals was good. Not as good as last year--but still good. As a team we definitely did much better last year (girls placing second last year and only seventh this year) and I guess if you look at the results I did better last year too. However, I think I played the best racquetball I ever have this week so that's what counts right? Anyway, I lost my first game in both singles and doubles but then proceeded to rather easily win every other match I played. So technically, I'm the winner of the losers. Really....I like to tell myself that I could have beaten all but two girls in my division and heck, we should have flat out won doubles if we would have played a little better. But what can you do? It was fun and for some reason they still gave me two gold medals. So I'll take it.

I love how nasty I look. I'd just played eight games of racquetball so you can't exactly blame me. And this is pretty much the only picture worth posting I have. And I had to get this one from my parents. Turns out I left my camera at the hotel--every day.

So just like that, tomorrow's the last day of school. Crazy right? I don't think I'm quite ready for everything that entails; finals, packing, storing my stuff, leaving for Moab, saying goodbye, taking the GRE, actually becoming proactive about applying for PA school...growing up is rather burdensome. My grandpa always told us, "Don't get old!" I guess that's good advice but right about now I'm wishing I'd listened to Peter Pan a bit more and stayed a kid. Too late for that, huh?

Happy Monday. Have a great week!

Off We Go!

Tomorrow at this time I will be in Springfield, Missouri competing in the national intercollegiate racquetball championships. Don't worry, it sounds much cooler than it is. Although it is a good time. And I get to see my parents! I'm so glad they are making the long drive out to see me! Thanks mom and dad! So...see ya next week! Hopefully I'll come back decked out kind of like this again...

...but no promises.

And on another note--my brother is cool! And famous! Go to BYU's homepage to see this picture and read the story about Brian's sweet action mechanical engineering capstone project!!

Isn't bragging about your family awesome?
